Presented by Lake Mac Libraries and NSW History Council, History Illuminated celebrates our history with a program full of discussions, lectures and presentations on historical fiction, fact, research, and writing.

Our week-long festival aims to surprise, inspire and inform by bringing together historians, researchers and authors with fascinating stories from our past.

Join us to celebrate the opening night of History Illuminated with some 1940s inspired fanfare, followed by Dr Peta Belic presenting the History Illuminated Opening address 'History: What is it good for?'

Events are held at Rathmines Theatre, Warners Bay Theatre, Toronto Library, Charlestown Library and Swansea Library.

All events are run with COVID-safe precautions, social distancing and additional hygiene measures in place. Masks are recommended.

Bookings are essential for all events. View the full program here
