Journey back in time through virtual reality (VR) to discover a time when the Awabakal People, were the sole inhabitants of Awaba (Lake Macquarie). Explore Lake Macquarie’s Aboriginal history through three stories: Niridiba about Moon Island; Malangbula, the story of two sisters Swansea Heads; and Kurrurkurraan, the story of Blackalls Park Petrified Forest. Join local artist Kathy Langlade as she shares her first picture book Who Stole My Sausage Roll? Suitable for kids, and adults, Who Stole My Sausage Roll? is a vintage inspired mystery story. After reading the book, Kathy will demonstrate the techniques she used to create the illustrations using kraft card and drawing media. Participants will then have the opportunity to create their own character to take home. Books will be available for sale and signings on the day. Suitable for ages 5-10 years. Bookings essential.
