Looking for something to do during the school holidays? Lake Mac Libraries have heaps of fun activities and events for all ages. Bookings are essential for all school holiday events and can be made online or in person prior to the event. Contact your local Library branch for more information.

Hands On Workshops

  • Augmented Reality Game Design - Join us at Charlestown Library as we use simple to understand software, to create your own augmented reality (AR) games or tell interactive stories. Suitable for ages 8 - 14 years.
  • Design. Build. Program: Robotics - Design, build and program awe-inspiring robots using LEGO’s most advanced and newest robotics technology – the powerful MINDSTORMS® EV3. Suitable for ages 8 - 14 years.
  • The Lost Skill of Wool Craft - Would you like to learn how to knit or crochet? Join members of Toronto Library's Craft Group, who will teach you some basic stitches to get you started. Suitable for ages 10 years+.
  • Fold and Fly: Paper Plane Making - Come along to Swansea Library and build the perfect paper plane! Receive step-by-step instruction on how to fold your own paper planes and be prepared to test your planes' aerodynamics! Suitable for ages 5 - 12 years.

Storytimes and Crafts

  • Frog Prince Puppet Show - Enjoy a special puppet show and storytime based on the classic tale “The Frog Prince. Suitable for ages 3 - 6 years.
  • Ruby Wishfingers Book Launch - Join us for a morning of fun, as local author Deborah Kelly launches the latest books in the Ruby Wishfingers series King of the Castle and Funny Money. Suitable for ages 4 - 8 years.
  • Drive-in to Storybox Library - Decorate your own cardboard car, ready for our drive-in storytime, and discover our latest product for library members - Storybox Library. Suitable for ages 4 - 7 years.
  • Crafty Kids - Get creative at Wangi Wangi Library with our free craft table. Suitable for ages 2 years+.
  • Meet the author and illustrator - Join Lessons of a Lac author Lynn Jenkins, and illustrator Kirrili Lonergan, as we celebrate their new book 'Ollie's Treasure'. Suitable for ages 4 - 8 years.
  • Teddy Bear Tea Party - Bring your teddy for a fun tea party with friends. Enjoy songs, stories and a special teddy bear craft. Suitable for ages 3 - 6 years.
  • Crafty Kids: Bugged Out - Drop in to Speers Point Library and create your own crazy critter from recycled materials to take home. Suitable for ages 3 - 9 years.
  • Out of This World: Stories and Craft with The Rover - Journey out of this world with The Rover as we enjoy stories and songs then create your own straw rocket to take home. Suitable for ages 3 - 8 years.
  • Wombat Stew Puppet Show - Enjoy a morning of fun stories at our special Wombat Stew puppet show, based on the favourite Aussie story by Marcia K. Vaughan. Suitable for ages 3 - 7 years.
  • Go Wild For Stories - Journey into the jungle with stories, songs and craft at Swansea Library's special holiday storytime. Suitable for ages 3 - 6 years.
