Learn to crochet

This workshop is aimed at complete beginners to crochet, and suitable for ages 10 years plus.

Join us at this hands on workshop where you will learn the basics of crochet, and create a granny square . The workshop will cover;

  • Starting and finishing
  • Basic stitches
  • Following a simple pattern
  • Hook sizes and wool ply

Suitable for teens aged 10 years plus. An accompanying adult is welcome to stay and follow along as well. Please book a ticket for all participants attending.

Enjoy small group tuition. All materials supplied.

Cost: $30 plus booking fee.

Toronto Library, tirrabiyangba has one accessible car park adjacent to the building on Brighton Avenue.

There is a public car park on Brighton Avenue (Woolworths). The library can be accessed from a footbridge on Level 5. Accessible parking is also available on this level. There is a 2-hour limit throughout the carpark except for levels 6 & 7 which are unlimited.

The library can be accessed by bus.

There is an accessible toilet in the corridor adjoining the library.

This event may be photographed and filmed, and your image could be used in advertising and promotion by Lake Macquarie City Council. Should you wish to not be photographed or filmed please advise event organisers on entry at the event.

About the tutor:

Wendy is an experienced (now retired) Fashion/ craft teacher TAFE, teaching in Toronto and Newcastle for 30 years. She has a passion for all things textile, proficient in various techniques, sewing, pattern making, needlecraft, knitting, crochet, cloth art/ doll making. She is a current member of NCEATA- Newcastle Creative Embroidery and textile Association.
