Ben's Book Club is a digital book club available exclusively to Australian and New Zealand libraries, hosted by best-selling author Ben Hobson.
Members of Lake Mac Libraries can now read the selected title in Libby, before joining Ben Hobson online each month to meet the author discuss the book.
As more and more Australians read and listen to books on their smartphone or tablet, Lake Mac Libraries is pleased to announce that library card holders can now borrow the book chosen for Ben's Book Club each month with no waiting or holds on the Libby reading app. Users with a library card can download Lake Mac Libraries digital content on any device 24/7 on the Libby App or by visiting https://libbyapp.com/library/lakemac.
24 June 2025 - 'The Bluff" By Joanna Jenkins
Zoom Event - Joanna Jenkins grew up on a small farm in country Queensland. After graduating from the University of Queensland with degrees in English Literature and Law, she practised as a solicitor. Now, she writes full-time, with her debut novel, 'How to Kill a Client', published in 2023. 'The Bluff' is her second novel.

She has published ten books, including a memoir, appears frequently on Q&A, The Drum, Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise, and in 2018 won the Walkley 'Women in Leadership' Award. She returns to crime fiction for her second adult novel, Lyrebird.

Zoom Event - Michael Brissenden was a journalist and foreign correspondent with the ABC for35 years. He was posted to Moscow, Brussels and Washington, and worked inCanberra for many years in various roles, including as the political editor for ABCTV's 7.30 and as a reporter with the ABC's investigative television documentary program Four Corners. Through his reporting, Michael has covered bushfires both in Australia and overseas, including in California. He has published three previous books.
