Write Here Festival and MAP mima are excited to invite school-aged children to participate in a unique creative exhibition! Young poets are encouraged to write a haiku—a short, three-line poem inspired by nature, emotions, or personal reflections. The challenge doesn't stop there! Participants will also create a visual representation of their haiku to be displayed in our immersive 360-degree projection cube.
MAP mima (Multi-Arts Pavilion, mima) is a cutting-edge, dynamic arts space located in Speers Point Park, Lake Macquarie. Designed as a hub for creativity and community engagement, MAP mima fosters innovation and interaction across a wide range of artistic disciplines. The space is dedicated to showcasing contemporary art, performances, and immersive experiences that push boundaries and invite audiences to engage in new and meaningful ways.
One of MAP mima's most distinctive features is its 360-degree projection cube, a unique platform for artists and performers to create immersive, audiovisual installations. The cube allows for a fully encompassing visual experience, with projections wrapping around the audience, transforming the space into a world of light, sound, and movement.
