A Love of Australian Birds was inspired by Jen's passion for Australian native birds and flora. Growing up in Dudley, Jen was always surrounded by an abundance of native bush birds. Bird nesting boxes were a feature under the verandah of her home where many Rosellas fledged chicks were born.

Jen and her husband Andrew have always shared a common interest in native birds. They have travelled and worked all over Australia - including trips to Lord Howe Island, and most recently, Christmas Island. They have always planted many native trees, bird baths, and nesting boxes in any home they have lived in over the last 30 years. They have reaped the rewards of attracting a diversity of native birds into their garden while providing them with natural food, fresh water, and shelter.

Australia's native bird life is so unique and diverse yet they are under threat from habitat loss due to land clearing, bush fires, and predatory animals. As such, through a want to protect the beautiful birds that inspired A Love of Australian Birds, 10 percent of any sales will be donated to Bird Life Australia (birdlife.org.au) to assist in the good work of preserving our special native birds.

Jen will be hosting a Artist Talk at Charlestown Library on September 5th at 1pm. This is a free event, with coffee and tea available - all are welcome. Click the link below to book in:
