Come along to Belmont Library to view Chrissy Mcyoung's artworks featured in Lake Macquarie Adventures for Kids! The artworks on display were commissioned for the Lake Mac Libraries' new picture book.  The artist visited each location and took inspiration from the natural beauty and the people enjoying them. They will exhibit as part of the Launchpad @ Lake Mac Libraries program.

About the Book

Lake Macquarie Adventures for Kids, illustrated by Chrissy McYoung and written by Lake Mac Libraries, is full of your favourite places and activities around Lake Macquarie. 

Explore the lake and what it has to offer -
read the book from cover to cover,
or throw on your shoes , dust off your hat,
look at the map and see where it's at!
Go someplace you know or find somewhere new,
picnic and play or just admire the view.
Dive into the ocean, hike through the trees,
or zoom around a pump track - do as you please.
Wherever you go and whatever you do,
there's a Lake Mac adventure waiting for you!

About the illustrator

Chrissy McYoung is a local illustrator with a love of the outdoors. She has been drawing, painting and creating since the birth of her son, Ezekiel, 17 years ago. She enjoys creating quirky images of pets and Australian animals that are full of details with lots to discover.

About the Venue

Belmont Library, located on Ernest Street has undercover accessible parking, that provides direct access via a ramp to the library. The venue has accessible bathrooms. The library is easily accessed by public buses.
