On Reflection is a collection of photographs that 'paint' a picture. 

This exhibition is a culmination of many hours of beach combing, bush walking, and lake watching. The photographs within On Reflection show nature 'as is'. It explores how a photograph - just like a painting - can be seen differently by different people, and can have a meaning beyond the surface or appear to be something it's not.

Julie Dunn has painted and drawn all her life and was introduced to photography when studying her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Newcastle in 2008. During her studies she used photography to find interesting aspects and angles to paint. However, photographs with painterly aspects soon become her focus. 

She is a Lake Macquarie resident and has exhibited in group shows in the local area. On Reflection is Julie's first exhibition of photographs. 

Julie Dunn will be hosting an Artist Talk at Toronto Library on August 13th at 1pm. This is a free event, with coffee and tea available - all are welcome. Click the link below to book in:
