The Whimsical Watercolours exhibition showcases original artwork from local Charlestown creative Sandy Dorse. Sandy is self taught and has been painting with watercolours for nearly 2 years. In that time, her work and colourful naive style has developed and evolved.
Whimsical Watercolour is bright and colourful - with a whimsical feel that has been described as happy and cheerful. Many of Sandy's designs have been influenced by her love of patchwork.
Sandy has been a maker of many things for much of her 64 years. From quilting, patchwork and applique to mosaics, paper mache, weaving, crochet, acrylic painting, and collage - she can't remember a time when she didn't create. Sandy credits her wonderfully supportive family for always encouraging her need to create.
The Whimsical Watercolour exhibition includes approximately 25 watercolour paintings of varying sizes with some available for purchase. A limited number of prints will also be available.
Sandy Dorse will be conducting a watercolour painting demonstration at Belmont Library on August 16th at 1pm. This is a free event with tea and coffee available - all are welcome. Click the below link to book in:
