Join Margaret Osbourn, spinner - as she demonstrates spinning and weaving at Sugar Valley Library Museum. Margaret will be demonstrating yarn work on the wheel and spindle, and helping visitors learn about this ancient art.

Margaret is a member of The Newcastle Spinners and Weavers Guild. The Guild nurtures the fibre crafts of spinning and weaving, and encourages other fibre crafts such as felting, dyeing, knitting, and crocheting.

This event is part of Worldwide Spin in Public Day - a day created by spinners to celebrate the art of spinning fibres into yarn. The first Worldwide Spin in Public Day was in 2009 and has since been celebrated every year in September concurrently in venues across the world.
