Final chapter for late fees

We’ve officially closed the book on overdue fees at Lake Mac Libraries.

From 1 July 2024, overdue fees will be scrapped across all of our libraries with borrowers no longer charged for late returned items.

We’re removing this financial barrier to ensure access to library services and resources is free for everyone.

This approach is designed to encourage fair and equitable use of our library resources, without penalising people.

Under the new system, borrowers with overdue items will have their memberships temporarily restricted until all items are returned.

Members will still incur replacement costs for lost and damaged items.
