About the artist: Marian Marcatili

Marian Marcatili is a practicing Ceramic Artist exploring various forms of the art in response to the natural beauty of the environment and surrounds of Lake Macquarie.

Marian gains inspiration from the environment of the lake and bushland that surrounds her, which she embraces and incorporates into her works, to create a sense of place and identity.

Working predominantly in porcelain, Marian is exploring surface textures inspired by locally found plant species or the fluid nature of the lake itself.

Marian has established her studio at Wangi Wangi and is currently an exhibiting member of the Newcastle Studio Potters and Back to Back Gallery, Cooks Hill, Newcastle, and recently artist co-op, Tinkat Alley Studio’s Gallery in Fassifern.
