Joining Lake Mac Libraries

Becoming a library member is free and easy for all residents and visitors of Lake Macquarie.

  • As a member, you can borrow books, audiobooks, DVDs, and other materials in-person or online.
  • You can also access a variety of e-resources, including eBooks, audiobooks, and e-magazines.
  • Enjoy a huge range of author talks, special events, school holiday activities, major festivals and workshops.

Our simple, easy-to-use app is free to download and offers everything you need right in the palm of your hand.

  • Access eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, graphic novels, TV and movies, and music streaming.
  • Manage your loans and reservations, plus reserve items from the catalogue at any of our 10 branches.
  • Use the app as your digital library card and manage multiple accounts in the one place – perfect for families!

Visit the Lake Mac Libraries Fab Lab

Located at the Swansea Centre, the Fab Lab (digital fabrication lab) is the city's newest technological hub. This innovative educational space is the first of its kind in regional New South Wales.

Visitors have the opportunity to develop skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Maths) and gain hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing equipment.

Some of the venue’s key features include a laser cutting machine, vinyl cutting machine, CNC router, 3D printer, green screen room and virtual reality headsets.
